WOOSTER -- The heat's going to be kicked up a notch on Aug. 20 when the third annual "Salsa Sizzle" fundraiser rocks into The Wooster Inn.

Held to raise money for Central American Medical Outreach, "Salsa Sizzle" will feature a Latin-inspired dinner, created by The Wooster Inn; dancing with music performed by the Cleveland Jazz Band; a local celebrity bartending competition; and a live auction, including several packages for vacations, one of which is to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

This specific CAMO fundraising event is held to raise money for Casa Hogar, the domestic violence shelter in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras, where the work of CAMO is located.

"CAMO is a humanitarian organization that improves the lives of people by strengthening healthcare systems and promoting community development," explained Beth Pycraft, a longtime CAMO volunteer who is helping to organize this year's "Salsa Sizzle." "Kathryn Tschiegg (CAMO founder and chief executive officer) was moved by the suffering she observed as a registered nurse in the Peace Corps while serving as a volunteer in Honduras. She formed CAMO in 1993. All of the members are volunteers and many are healthcare workers, but many others give their time and energy."
