Dental Program

Only one hundred public health dentists are responsible for the dental care of more than 4 million men, women and children in Honduras. Public health dentists often lack appropriate equipment and supplies.

Since 1993 CAMO has been running a Dental Program for the western part of Honduras. It is the only region in Honduras that has three fully functional mobile dental units that are used on a weekly basis by the Honduran dentist. This allows the dentists to go to rural areas and schools for dental care and education. CAMO's dental program treats around 10,000 people a year. It is the only dental program in Honduras that has statistically decreased (by 50%!) the number of teeth lost to decay, and is also providing restorative services.

Ways you can help:
  • Donate equipment and supplies
  • Make dental kits for the children including toothbrushes, paste and floss.
