Women & Children's Health

In Honduras, there is a growing need for improved care in women and children’s health. Maternal mortality is 110 per 100,000 births with an infant mortality rate at 3%. Only 67% of births are being attended to by skilled health personnel. 4% of children are underweight, and 3% of children won’t live past the age of 5.

CAMO addresses these issues by providing medical programs to help fight needless deaths. Programs have been established to provide the diagnosis and treatment of breast and cervical cancers. The ultrasound program provides for more appropriate prenatal care. And the dental program sends teams to rural villages to serve children that otherwise would not have access to dental care.
