Over 100 Children Prepared to Save Lives, Thanks to CAMO Junior

More than 100 children from the Manuel Bonilla Elementary School in Santa Rosa de Copán experienced a life-changing event: they learned how to provide first aid and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

But the most remarkable part of the day wasn’t just the knowledge they gained—it was who taught them: other children, just like them.

After an intensive training process, the young volunteers of CAMO Junior enthusiastically took on the challenge of sharing their knowledge with others. With energy, enthusiasm, and hearts eager to serve, these young leaders became life instructors, spreading awareness about the importance of taking action in an emergency.

“It was really nice because I learned and got to teach others what we’ve learned in CAMO,” shared Sara Madrid, a CAMO Junior member.

This event was more than a training—it was a space where children discovered their potential to help, to lead, and to make a difference. The day was filled with smiles, friendship, and a spark of hope ignited in every participant.

This initiative reaffirms the mission of CAMO Junior: to build a new generation of volunteers who, from an early age, understand the value of service and solidarity. Currently, at least 48 children aged 3 to 17 are part of this program. They actively participate in fundraising events, community outreach, and now, in teaching other children.
